Sometimes, here in Davidson, NC, we get a lot of rain — it can really dump on us. We got quite a bit when the remnants of Tropical Storm Ernesto came through. But actually, the rain we got due to Ernesto only amounted to about an inch, and it never really came down hard.
A few months ago, it rained even harder. Take a look at this:
Now that’s some rain. But about 5 a.m. this morning, it was raining harder than that. How hard? Well, it was too dark to take pictures, but I can show you a bit of the aftermath. You see, yesterday, I was working in the yard, and I filled a large bag with branches, weeds, and such. I put it out on the curb for pickup by the recycling truck. Here’s what happened to it overnight:
The “ghost” image represents where I put it yesterday afternoon. The solid image on the left side of the road is where I found it this morning. Mark’s bag across the street must have been filled with rocks or something, because it stayed where he put it.
