   Nice liberal-bashing going on at that blog. I doubt there’s more than 2 or 3 Democrats in the entire world who would be so vaccilating in the presence of a knife-wielding maniac. I’d shoot to kill to save my family. But that hardly makes me a Republican.

   As much as I resent the implications of that joke (that Dems would do nothing to protect their families), I still remember Dukakis getting fried in the debates over that hypothetical re his wife’s rape and murder. And, for that matter, John Kerry’s blathering during the campaign. (Tell me, though . . . Why are people bothered by Kerry’s blathering, but not by Bush’s incoherent, agrammatical speech?)

   I think one problem Democrats have had recently in presidential elections is that they try so hard to nominate someone “electable” that they forget to nominate a leader. That’s why they backed off on Dean, and that’s why Barack Obama will probably never get nominated, even though he’s a great leader.
