Life during wartime is a place where individuals can share their recollections from the 2003 Iraq war, whether as active participants or (un)interested observers.

One further question I hope this site may answer is how and whether to attempt to place these recollections in a more permanent form--a book, a Web site, a special issue of a magazine or journal.

I'd also like to develop a collection of links to similar sites for placement in this sidebar. Please contact me if you have a suggestion for a link to include.

I would discourage submissions designed solely to advance a particular political perspective on the war; I'm more interested in personal stories--the inner conflicts we go through as we struggle with priorities. I hope to receive stories from a variety of people: teachers, combatants and their friends and family, students, politicians, journalists, and anyone else with a story to tell.
