I’ve always thought of Mother’s Day as a “Hallmark Holiday.” I was talking about it with my mom and Greta and we decided to look it up. Turns out the concept is thousands of years old (if Wikipedia is to be trusted).
Not only that, but the modern U.S. incarnation of Mother’s Day came from an anti-war protest. How cool is that? So happy Mother’s Day, Mom, Greta, and all the other mothers out there. Here’s a picture of the two Moms I spent Mother’s Day with, as well as some of the reasons why they’re mothers.
