Okay, I’ll bite

Anders Jacobsen is offering to donate $1 for every blog posting a link to his page and the following tsunami relief organizations. You can add mine to the list, Anders!

I tell you what I’ll do. I’ll add my own $5 (up to $100, I’m not as generous as Anders) for every blog that links back to Word Munger in the same way Anders specifies. Perhaps eventually the whole blogosphere will contribute!

International aid organizations:
UNICEF (United Nations Children’s Fund)
United Nations’ World Food Programme
Medecins Sans Frontieres / Doctors without Borders (donate!)
CARE International
The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies

UK/Europe:
Disasters Emergency Comittee (DEC) - comprises a raft of aid agencies, including the below and others
British Red Cross
Save the Children UK

North America:
American Red Cross
Canadian Red Cross
Save The Children

Anders Jacobsen: Webloggers: Give to tsunami victims and I’ll give too!

Here’s the code to cut and paste to link back to this post (I took the liberty of adding Oxfam to the list):

I’ll update the totals periodically here in the comments. We’ve already got three takers (you now see Word Munger’s vast scope of influence):

    Avidly Dreaming

    incorporated subversion

    A Long Strange Journey

That’s $15 so far for tsunami relief! Keep ‘em coming!

Link-whoring with a social conscience. This I like!

Link-whoring? I prefer to think of it more like the benefactor’s list in the symphony program — everyone knows you’re only donating to get the coveted invite to the Smythes’ Christmas ball, but they all still appreciate the sentiment.

Anyhoo, Dennis Jerz’s link, plus a link from
the interestingly titled was it the Pagan remark? brings our total to $25 smackeroos! Woohoo!
